Brainsway successful TMS testing for smokers

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a solution to treat brain disorders and helps change human behaviour by sending brief magnetic pulses to the brain. This technology is adopted by Brainsway for treating many mental disorders and they recently held their trial of TMS on smokers helping them quit smoking. The result was successful with most of them victorious in quitting even after being exposed to high stimulation to desire to smoke.

At Allen Carr’s Easyway you can learn how to stop smoking through stop smoking clinics, books, seminars & online smoking programs. Allen Carr’s Stop Smoking methods will help you escape from smoking and nicotine addiction.

Brainsway divided a group of 31 smokers into three separate groups and they were all given three different types of treatment. One of the groups was exposed to high frequency magnetic pulses and the second exposed to low frequency magnetic pulses and the third to placebo treatment. During the treatment some of them were also exposed to stimulation to desire to smoke.

The group exposed to high frequency treatment responded quiet successdfully with an interim success rate of more than 50% out of 60% of the group. The other two groups together showed a success rate of only 20%. And for the group that were exposed to high stimulation to desire to smoke, 41% that were going through high frequency test gave up smoking completely, 12.5% was the success rate in placebo group and none in the low frequency test.

This test also help increase the share price of Brainsway and its share prices rose to 2.2% in the afternoon trading on TASE.
